Legal Support

One of Maurice's biggest primary needs is legal counsel. He has exhausted his appeals and has been placed on various waiting lists in multiple innocence programs for years. It has been told to him that if a private attorney does not agree to help him, it may take another 5 to 7 years for the innocence program to help him. 

Financial Support

Attaining a lawyer to help with the case is not only difficult but costly as well, and as such, Maurice is seeking financial assistance in obtaining a defender who can help him prove his innocence. 

Maurice has studied and written extensively about the causes that lead to wrongful convictions. His study has led him to write several proposed bills, including the bill to improve informant reliance and testimony in Missouri, which similar bills have passed in other states.
